We are Bratislava Bats, the only box lacrosse club in Slovakia. We are looking for guys aged 16 and up who want to play all out, travel and pull on a national team jersey.

Box lacrosse in 30 seconds
Imagine hockey without ice and without skates. You catch, carry and shoot the ball with the net on your stick. It is played in an arena with boards, and contact is part of the game.
- 5 + 1Five players on the floor plus a goalie. You change lines quickly, just like in hockey.
- 30 secondsThat is all a team has to shoot. The game never stops.
- BoardsBody checks, battles along the boards and a penalty box. Not a sport for the faint-hearted.
Why Bats
Have fun
We are a crew that has played together for almost 20 years. Practices, games, road trips and the parties after them. You come alone and leave with friends. We have players from abroad too, so English works just fine.
Travel
We play the Czech NBLL, tournaments around Europe and, with the national team, World and European Championships. Lacrosse takes you places you would never see otherwise. And if you want, even across the ocean to Canada and the USA, where the game is played at the highest level.
Play for Slovakia
There are not many of us in Slovakia, and that is your advantage. Whoever works hard gets a shot at the national team jersey sooner than in any big sport. And from Los Angeles 2028, lacrosse is an Olympic sport, played in the sixes format.
From first practice to the national team
This is what a player’s path looks like with us. How far you go is up to you.
First practice
Come in sweatpants. We lend you the gear and show you how to catch and pass the ball.
First game
Once you master the basics, you play in a real game. Anyone who played hockey or basketball picks it up surprisingly fast.
First road trip
Tournaments in Czechia and around Europe. A weekend with the crew and games against teams from all over the continent.
National team
Most of our team plays for Slovakia. World and European Championships are a normal part of our season.
Overseas
Want to go even further? We will help you get to Canada or the USA: training, studies, scholarships.

FAQ
I have never played lacrosse. Can I come?
Yes. Most of us started from zero, often after hockey, basketball or football. At your first practice we show you the basics and nobody expects you to know everything.
Do I need my own gear?
No. We lend you a stick, helmet, gloves and pads to start with. Sportswear, indoor shoes and a bottle of water are all you need.
How much does it cost?
The first three months are free. If you decide to stay, the membership fee is €20 a month.
Where and when do you practise?
Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00 – 9:30 pm at the Areál netradičných športov (ANŠ), Pivonková Street, Bratislava.
I don’t speak Slovak. Can I join?
Yes. Part of our team comes from abroad and English is no problem at practice. Fill in the form or send us a message on Instagram.
